The AEON AEON Japanese Shimabara Food Fair Opening Ceremony was held at AEON Kornhill Store on 22th October. We had the honour to invite Mr. Ryuzaburo Furukawa, Mayor of Shimabara City, Mr. Ikawahara, Chief Consul of Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, Mr. Yasuda, Economic Consul of Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong and Mr. Hiroshi Ogawa, Managing Director of The Eighteenth Bank, Limited. As the officiating guests, to ribbon-cutting and toasting with Mr. H. Yajima, Director of AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited.
Mr. Furukawa gave us travel information of his hometown. Shimabara is a historic city in Kyushu, there are many special tourist spots such as the volcano which called “Heisei New Mountain”, is the latest mountain of Japan.
Besides, Mr. Furukawa also recommended some of the specialty goods, including Shimabara melon which is famous for its juiciness, softness and sweet aroma. The ceremony was concluded by melon tasting, all the guests and customers greatly enjoyed the melon.
