Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2016

AEON Group has been continuously implementing tree planting activities and has planted over 10 million trees across the globe.

The Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2016, sponsored by AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co. Limited and organised by Green Fun, was held on 19th March. More than 1600 participants from government authorities, non-profitable organisations and corporates joint hands to plant a total of 8,000 trees in Tai Tong, Yuen Long.

The participants, including 100 AEON staff members, gathered at the country park in the weekend morning. Mr. Hideaki Yajima, Deputy Managing Director of AEON Stores, represented the company to deliver speech at the opening ceremony. "Through this event, we hope to influence more people to get involved in the environmental protection works in Hong Kong. AEON will continue to support tree planting activities and create a sustainable society together with our stakeholders," said Mr. Yajima.

After the ceremony, Mr. Yajima planted trees with other officiating guests in the VIP planting zone, while other participants set off to the tree planting site. Each participant was given two seedlings and everyone planted them carefully. It is hoped that the seedlings would grow into lush and healthy forest.
