AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited
Aligning with its dedication to environmental protection, when AEON STYLE Kornhill and AEON STYLE Whampoa celebrated their grand opening, the Group organised a “Hearty Flower Donation” and raised over HK$150,000 for the “Eco-paddy for Wildlife” project of The Conservancy Association in support of local farming and sustainable development. On December's AEON Day (11th Dec), AEON Tuen Mun Store and Kowloon Bay Store Cheers Club organised an activity for members to visit Long Valley Wetland, observing various wildlife animals and learning about the agriculature in Hong Kong.
Long Valley, located in Sheung Shui, is the largest piece of fresh water farming wetland in Hong Kong, which is also frequently visited by many kinds of wildlife such as birds and frogs, making it one of the important local ecology hotspots. Eco-tour guides arranged by The Conservancy Association led the kids to walk through the fields at Long Valley while they were all very enthusiastic to observe the many kinds of wildlife there with their binoculars. At the same time, the guides also introduced local farming as well as the growing of paddy rice and other crops. It is hoped that through this activity, children would learn about the ecological importance of local farming and that we should take part in conservation of Hong Kong's natural environment.
