AEON pledged for “Fair Trade Hong Kong - Fair Quinoa For Children” Programme

Fair Trade Hong Kong has launched a two-year healthy food assistance programme - "Fair Quinoa For Children" for grass-roots children since 2018. An organic Fair Trade quinoa grown in Peru is introduced and sold through different retail networks in Hong Kong. For every pack of quinoa purchased by the public, Fair Trade Hong Kong will donate the same amount of quinoa to a local grass-roots family. It is expected that over a thousand of grass-roots families will be benefited.

Quinoa is a food with high value of nutrition. Supporting the activity can benefit not only the customers, but also the grassroots children. It can also bring more reasonable returns to the small farmers in Peru.

AEON is one of the corporate partners of the programme and has sponsored venues for charity sale. On 8 September, AEON attended the Fair Quinoa For Children opening ceremony to express the support for the programme and was awarded a certificate of appreciation. The charity sale was held at AEON STYLE Kornhill, Whampoa, AEON Tuen Mun and Lai Chi Kok stores to enable customers to contribute to the protection of basic children's rights.
