JUSCO CHANGES COMPANY NAME TO AEON STORES (HONG KONG) CO., LIMITED 永旺(香港)百貨有限公司

(HONG KONG, 11 July 2003) - General Merchandise Stores operator JUSCO Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited (Stock code: 984) ("JUSCO" or the "Company") today announced the change of the Company's English name to "AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited" and the Company's Chinese name to "永旺(香港)百貨有限公司". This change will take effect immediately as it has obtained the unanimous consent of shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on 19 June 2003 and has just been approved by the Registrar of Companies in Hong Kong.

Mr. Kazumasa Ishii, Managing Director of JUSCO, commented, "We are pleased to have the support of our shareholders in this aspect. We believe that the new Company name will further strengthen the Group's corporate image and enhance our future business development. Our retail business operations will remain the same and continue using the "JUSCO 吉之島" name."
