AEON Japan Fukushima Fair Opening Ceremony

Japan is topographically slender from north to south and has four distinct seasons. Different regions have their own history and culture, and are rich in unique cuisines. AEON cooperates with the Fukushima Prefectural Government to organise "AEON Japan Fukushima Fair " from 10 Mar to 22 March, bringing a variety of authentic food and tourist information to Hong Kong customers. For the grand occasion, AEON held the opening ceremony at Domain, Yau Tong this afternoon. Ms. NARUSE Yoshie, Consulate-General of Japan Consul - Economic Section, Mr. MORI Naoto, Fukushima Prefectural Government and other representatives, together with Mr. Isao Sugawara, Managing Director, AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited, officiated a Sake Barrel Ceremony to kick off the event.

Fukushima Prefecture is located in the southern part of Japan, which divided into three main regions, contained with rich history and culture, and encompassed with beautiful natural scenery. Especially during the season of spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the scenery becomes even more charming. Besides of introducing tourist information, the fair of course is indispensable to local delicacies which included locally grown rice and soba noodles; the sake brewed using rice and water from Aizu City is also of a high standard and is very popular among the Japanese.

The guests and customers present were being attracted by the dynamic Japanese Taiko Performance and the traditional Fukushima Ikebana Performance, and they all stayed to watch and enjoy. Additionally, "Little Red Bull", the famous mascot from Aizu also made a cute appearance, took photos and played quiz games with the customers, as well as gave out featured gifts of Aizu City. After the ceremony, there was also the “Aizu Red Bull Painting Experience Workshop”, which also attracted a large group of children to participate.
