AEON Stores and Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong) held a tree caring activity

To support the "Country Parks Plantation Enrichment Programme", AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited ("AEON Stores"), AEON Credit Service (Asia) Company Limited, and Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong) joined hands to organize the "Tree Planting Challenge 2023". The tree planting event took place successfully on 20th May at Tai Lam Country Park, with the presence and speech of Mr. Kenichi Okada, Consul-General (Ambassador) of Japan in Hong Kong. More than 90 volunteers, including AEON staff members and their children, worked together to plant 400 native tree seedlings, contributing to greening Hong Kong and conserving the local ecological environment.

On 2nd December, over 20 AEON staff members and their children returned to Tai Lam Country Park to participate in a tree caring activity. Under the guidance of registered arborists, participants were divided into teams and carried out a series of caretaking tasks within the conservation zone. These tasks included weeding, fertilizing, and watering, providing the necessary nutrients for the saplings to ensure their continuous healthy growth. AEON staff members worked diligently and swiftly to complete the various tasks.

Through this activity, participants not only had the opportunity to experience caretaking tasks but also gained an understanding of the importance of tree planting in reducing carbon emissions and maintaining biodiversity. It is hoped that the young saplings will grow strong and become a lush forest, increasing the ecological value of Hong Kong's country parks.
