"AEON Scholarship" Presentation Ceremony was held at the University of Hong Kong

On 24th February 2024, the "AEON Scholarship" held physical presentation ceremony at the University of Hong Kong, awarding certificates to 20 bachelor students. Mr. Shigehiro NISHIUMI, Deputy Consul-General, Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, Mr. Takenori NAGASHIMA, the Managing Director of AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited, Mr. Tomoharu FUKAYAMA, the Managing Director of AEON Credit Service (Asia) Co., Ltd., and representatives from different faculties of the University of Hong Kong were cordially invited to deliver speeches.

As an essential part of fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), AEON Group has extended its "AEON Scholarship Program" to overseas from 2008 and more than 8,300 students have been benefited from it. Through the implementation of the program, AEON provides financial support to students with outstanding academic performance, encouraging their pursuit of academic excellence and increasing their sense of responsibility, so as to create a better future and realize their dreams.

Since 2019, AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited and AEON Credit Service (Asia) Co., Ltd. jointly set up "AEON Scholarship" with The University of Hong Kong. This scholarship is mainly awarded to bachelor students studying Japanese studies, Business & Economics or Engineering to meet the development needs of Hong Kong and cultivate more professionals in related fields. The 2022-2023 AEON Scholarship has been awarded to 20 bachelor students and each received a scholarship of HK$10,000.

Mr. Takenori NAGASHIMA, the Managing Director of AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited, said in his speech,“The original activity of AEON Scholarship started in Japan in 1958. Since then, AEON has created a corporate culture within the Group that emphasizes social contribution activities. We have been dedicated to contribute to the community in different fields and build a better community together with its stakeholders. Since 2019, we have cooperated with the University of Hong Kong to set up AEON Scholarship. I am very glad to see that students can face different challenges and demonstrate a remarkable blend of passion and excellence in their field of study. I hope students will, start with what you can do, work together to create a better society by solving social problems around the world with the spirit of culture of AEON".
