The Used Book Recycling Campaign has been co-organized by World Vision Hong Kong and AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited since 1992. The event has collected over 6.3 million used books and whole project has risen over HK$37 million as of the end of 2023 for World Vision’s education projects, at the same time, supporting environmental protection.

This year marks the 30th ceremony of the event. Under the theme "Let the SEN Be Heard," the objective is to raise the awareness of society hearing the needy people’s voices and understanding their needs.

The annual Used Book Recycling Campaign kicks off today (12 July) at the atrium of Citywalk Phase 2, Tsuen Wan. The funds raised from this event will be continuously used in local education projects, which provide professional one-on-one play therapy to SEN children to improve their emotional and behavioural issues; provide individual and group counselling for parents to enhance parent-child relationships; train parents to become certified art instructors so that they can maintain livelihoods while caring for children and contribute to the community ; organise talks and workshops to help people understand the needs of SEN children from the perspectives of parents and caregivers and organise a Community Inclusion Fest to let the public learn about the talents of SEN children and promote a culture of equality and inclusion.

Many used books ranging from novels, leisure reading, children’s books and comics, to reference books, are collected and on sale for as low as HK$10.

Besides, AEON volunteer team went to the site to contribute to the Charity Sale today. AEON volunteers displayed books on shelves, arranged payments and helped keep smooth operations of the event.
