AEON Volunteer Team: Lunch Box Preparation Activity

On the morning of November 7th, the AEON Volunteer Team joined one of the voluntary works from Food Angel —“Lunch Box Preparation.” In the Sham Shui Po Kitchen, they helped to prepare ingredients and packed 2,021 meal boxes to contribute to the community.

AEON is committed to promoting peace and contributing to society through various corporate social responsibility activities, organizing a range of social initiatives each month. Additionally, AEON participates in different food recycling projects aimed at helping those in need and raising awareness about the importance of treasuring food as a precious resource. Through this activity, we hope to convey the messages of "Treasuring Resources" and "Caring Community," raising environmental awareness among participants and encouraging the practice of waste reduction and recycling in daily life to protect the ecological environment. The joint efforts of our volunteers bring warmth and care to the community, further demonstrating our commitment to social responsibility.

Food Angel rescues edible surplus food from various sectors of the food industry that would otherwise be discarded as waste and turns it into nutritious meals for those in need. Currently, Food Angel rescues 45 tonnes of edible surplus food each week, producing over 20,000 nutritious meals and distributing more than 11,000 other meals and food packs daily, free of charge, to individuals requiring food assistance.
