AEON Volunteer Team: Tai Po Sha Lan Hillside and Coastal Cleanup Activity

On 25th February, the AEON Volunteer Team, in collaboration with Green Hope, organized a hillside and coastal cleanup activity, making a meaningful contribution to the local community.

AEON has always been committed to making a difference for the environment and contributing to sustainable development in society through various initiatives. Every year, AEON collaborates with different stakeholders to conduct community cleanup activities in various districts across Hong Kong, aiming to protect the environment while strengthening community ties.

This cleaning activity was held in Sha Lan, Tai Po. Due to its convenient geographical location, Sha Lan attracts many visitors for leisure activities and gatherings, especially on weekends. Unfortunately, this increased foot traffic which has led to significant hillside pollution, posing a threat to the ecological environment.

During the cleanup, the AEON Volunteer Team collected over 20 large bags of trash, weighing a total of 40 kilograms. The collected garbage included a diverse range of items, such as styrofoam, plastic bottles, plastic bags and disposable gloves being the most common, underscoring the seriousness of the pollution problem.

Through this hillside and coastal cleanup activity, AEON aims to continue to promote environmental awareness and engage in waste reduction and recycling, ultimately protecting the ecological environment.
