"AEON Scholarship" Presentation Ceremony was held at the University of Hong Kong

On 12th April 2025, the "AEON Scholarship" held physical presentation ceremony at the University of Hong Kong, awarding certificates to 20 bachelor students. Mr. Shigehiro NISHIUMI, Deputy Consul-General, Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, Mr. Takenori NAGASHIMA, the Managing Director of AEON Store (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., Mr. WEI Aiguo, the Managing Director of AEON Credit Service (Asia) Co., Ltd., and representatives from different faculties of the University of Hong Kong were cordially invited to deliver speeches.

As an essential part of fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), AEON Group has extended its "AEON Scholarship Program" to overseas from 2008 and more than 8,800 students have been benefited from it. Through the implementation of the program, AEON provides financial support to students with outstanding academic performance, encouraging their pursuit of academic excellence and increasing their sense of responsibility, so as to create a better future and realize their dreams.

Since 2019, AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. and AEON Credit Service (Asia) Co., Ltd. jointly set up "AEON Scholarship" with The University of Hong Kong. This scholarship is mainly awarded to bachelor students studying Japanese studies, Business & Economics or Engineering to meet the development needs of Hong Kong and cultivate more professionals in related fields. The 2023-2024 AEON Scholarship has been awarded to 20 bachelor students and each received a scholarship of HK$10,000.

Mr. Takenori NAGASHIMA, the Managing Director of AEON Store (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., said in his speech: “The original activity of AEON scholarship started in Japan in 1958 and has become a cornerstone of our corporate culture, embodying the principle of "starting with what we can do" and actively contributing to the prosperity and development of the community. Since 2019, we have partnered with the University of Hong Kong and set up‘AEON Scholarship’. I am truly impressed by the resilience and passion in overcoming challenges and excelling in their studies. I hope that students will start with what they can do, leveraging their individual strengths to collectively address various social issues and create a better society together.”
