AEON Volunteer Team: Removal actions for invasive Species, Mikania known as the "Green Cancer"

On March 25th, the AEON Volunteer Team joined forces with Green Power to clear the invasive species "Green Cancer" - Mikania, transforming into forest rangers to participate in the removal of harmful plants and contribute to the conservation of the natural environment.

AEON has always been committed to pursuing peace and contributing to society by carrying out various corporate social responsibility activities. Under the guidance of staff from Green Power, AEON volunteers worked hard to remove 29 kilograms of Mikania, allowing the local plants to grow healthily.

This cleaning activity was located in Sha Lo Tung, Tai Po, where faces various damages and threats affecting the local wetland ecology. Mikania, known as "Green Cancer," is extensively growing in Sha Lo Tung, strangling the living space of native species and significantly reducing the area of wetland vegetation, further drying out the wetland. Removing Mikania allows native plants to regrow and restores the original vitality of the wetland!

Through this harmful plant removal activity, the message of "caring for the environment" is hoped to be conveyed, enhancing participants' knowledge of ecological conservation, and further spreading this knowledge to those around them to create a greater impact.
