AEON Volunteer Team: Food Surplus Utilization and Community love Soup Service Day

On 17th July, AEON Volunteer Team visited Kwai Chung Food Grace Center in Kwai Chung. They utilized recycled ingredients to prepare nutritious low-carbon soup, and personally delivered to seniors living alone, elderly couples, and grassroots families in the Kwai Tsing District, showing care for those in need. This initiative not only promotes environmental sustainability in daily life but also supports the local community.

The nutritious soup prepared that day, "Winter Melon and Carrot Dampness-Removing Soup," made with ingredients such as winter Melon, carrots, hyacinth beans, Chinese yam, etc. Volunteers were divided into small groups to wash and chop the ingredients, then proceeded to cook. They then delivered pots of heartfelt soup along with handwritten cards and some food bags from the donation of“AEON Happy Yellow Receipt Campaign" to those in need in the community.

After the event, the volunteers expressed their joy in participating. They found fulfillment in sending blessings to those in need while learning about low-carbon diets, making good use of food surplus, and reducing waste. It is very meaningful to integrate environmental protection into daily life.
