AEON Volunteer Team: Leading Community Children to DIY Eco-Friendly Christmas Trees

On November 27, the AEON Volunteer Team, consisting of 23 volunteers, visited the Headquarters of Christian Action in Choi Wan. They engaged children from low-income families, guided them in creating Christmas tree decorations using recycled wine corks. This initiative aimed to support the community while educating children on the significance of practicing environmental sustainability in their daily lives.

The AEON volunteers worked with 15 children aged 7 to 11 from low-income families. They helped the kids paint, glue, and assemble wine corks into Christmas trees. The children then expressed their creativity by adding decorations, resulting in unique Christmas trees.

After the event ended successfully, the volunteers expressed their joy in participating. They felt it was fulfilling to support children from low-income families in pursuing extracurricular education and serving the community. The experience also allowed participants to learn about the effective use of daily resources and the importance of reducing waste, integrating environmental awareness into their lives in a fun and meaningful way.
