AEON Stores to Open Eighth JUSCO "$10 Plaza" in Tsuen Wan Provides a Variety of Trendy Items at $10

(Hong Kong, 18 April, 2005) - General Merchandise Stores (GMS) operator, AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited ("AEON Stores" or the "Group") (Stock code: 984), today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Hopewell Holdings Limited to open its eighth independent $10 Plaza in Panda Hotel, Tsuen Wan in July 2005.

The new 8,176 sq. ft. JUSCO $10 Plaza will be located at Basement 2, Panda Place, Panda Hotel. Uniquely designed and carrying a great variety of household items, the new JUSCO $10 Plaza will be a paradise for shoppers looking for trendy products and a great shopping experience. A total of 4,500 fashionable items in different categories, including kitchen utensils, toys, stationery, pet accessories and food will all be sold at the standard price of HK$10.

Mr. Kazumasa Ishii, Managing Director of AEON Stores, said, "Encouraged by the great success of our previous shops, I am pleased to announce the opening of our eighth independent $10 Plaza in Hong Kong. The new JUSCO $10 Plaza is located inside Panda Hotel, a popular hotel with high occupancy rate of overseas visitors. It is also adjacent to office and industrial buildings nearby. This strategic location guarantees high customer flows and thus, the success of the shop. Looking to the future, we will continue to look for suitable locations to open more JUSCO $10 Plaza."

In 2002, the Group opened its flagship JUSCO $10 Plaza in Causeway Bay, which occupied 26,000 sq.ft. and has been attracting high customer flows. Afterwards, the Group opened more independent $10 Plaza in Kowloon City, Yuen Long, Sheung Wan, Tseung Kwan O, North Point and Jordan. Adding the new shop in Tsuen Wan, the Group will have a total of eight independent $10 Plaza in Hong Kong.
