On behalf of the Group, I would like to thank all the supporters of 'JUSCO'."

"Today, we are happy to announce that all 'JUSCO' stores have been renamed 'AEON', which carries special significance to us. As a leading general merchandise retailer in Japan, our parent company, AEON Co., Ltd., boasts diversified businesses and abundant industry resources and experience. Unifying our store name as 'AEON' represents a new milestone in our development, through which we offer more comprehensive services, more diversified products from around the world and better services backed by our strong global connections. While the brand name may have changed, we continue with our strategy of providing quality daily necessities at reasonable prices to our customers and our commitment to contribute to society as a responsible corporate citizen."

AEON Co., Ltd. is a retail and service enterprise from Japan, which mainly engages in operating shopping centres and other retail businesses. It also operates specialty stores, financial and property services businesses as well as convenience stores. Currently, it operates more than 200 enterprises, and nearly 15,000 stores which mainly span across Japan, China and Southeast Asia. In 2012, AEON Co., Ltd. was named among the Fortune Global 500. Renaming the stores under the name "AEON" not only enhances their brand status, but will also create greater synergies in areas such as procurement and management for the Group's business development in the future.

Guided by the credo of "Everything we do, we do for our customers", AEON Stores established its presence in Hong Kong in 1987 and opened its first stores in Guangzhou and Shenzhen in 1995 and 2001 respectively. Having built its roots in Hong Kong for over 25 years, the Group has continuously innovated to meet customers' preferences and expectations by introducing different business models. These include GMS which offers comprehensive daily necessities; supermarkets renowned for offering a wide array of fresh food items; Living PLAZA which offers affordable and quality merchandise imported from Japan; Bento Express which presents fresh Japanese cuisine every day; and AEON's own TOPVALU brand which provides a range of quality products. In Latin, the name "AEON" carries a meaning of "eternity". Renaming all stores under such an enduring name underscores the Group's permanent mission of serving customers with its "Customer-First" philosophy. Adhering to the principle of "Striving to enhance customers' enjoyment" (「您的喜悅,我們的追求」) in 2013, the Group will offer attentive service and a quality shopping experience to customers at competitive pricing in order to become the preferred choice of customers in their daily life.

Previously, AEON Co., Ltd., the parent company of AEON Stores, implemented organisational restructuring to facilitate more closely integrated operations across Asia. It has set up separate headquarters in regions beyond Japan including China and Southeast Asia to accelerate business development in respective regions. Following the unification of the brand names of all of the GMS in Japan and Malaysia as "AEON" in 2011 and 2012 respectively, the Group has subsequently renamed all "JUSCO" stores in China and Hong Kong as "AEON" effective from 1 March 2013.
